GREENUP, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — After being under a 24-hour boil order, Greenup, Illinois has lifted the order.

According to Kay Hornbeck, Treasurer of the Village of Greenup the boil order had been lifted Feb. 27.

The Village of Greenup’s water system underwent construction to repair a leak.

The leak had caused the water towers to be turned off temporarily. After the leak was repaired, and water service was restored, the boil order was in effect but has since been lifted.

Cumberland CUSD #77 will be closed on February 27.
