ViGO / CLAY COUNTY — In an effort to support those impacted by the deadly tornado that hit Sullivan on March 31st, the teams at Great Dane Terre Haute and Great Dane Brazil are working together to gather donations.
By organizing a donation drive to help those affected by the natural disaster, the Great Dane family is looking to show their support for the community of Sullivan.
“We wanted to do anything we could to help people in nearby communities who were devastated by tornadoes,” said Matthew Johnson, plant manager for Great Dane Terre Haute and Central Fab Operations.
The teams are looking for certain types of donated goods such as non-perishable foods and needed household items.
“We quickly devised a plan to collect non-perishable food and essential items to help families with necessities as soon as possible. We wanted all those affected by the storm to know that we care about them.” Cory Lookebill, plant manager for Great Dane Brazil, agreed.
The kindness of the Great Dane teams extended to entire families getting involved in the efforts, collecting, and delivering the necessities.
“Our hearts are with the affected communities as they work to recover and rebuild. I’m proud of the support our team has provided. This type of compassion and generosity is what makes Great Dane a special place, where co-workers are more like family, and we strive to treat others as we would want to be treated,” said Rick Mullininx, President and COO of Great Dane.
