TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Enriching children’s learning was the goal Friday as community members hit the links to raise money for public education.

It was all part of the Vigo County Education Foundation’s “Fore the Kids” annual golf scramble. It’s the organization’s largest fundraiser.

The money helps supplement curriculum needs, such as materials for science experiments, book programs, and after-school programs.

“Programs like these create memories,” Executive Director of the Vigo County Education Foundation Jane Nichols said. “They provide hands-on, experiential learning, inquiry-based learning, all these extra programs that are not in the school budget.”

If you couldn’t participate in this year’s scramble, you can still donate to the education foundation at their website here.
