Former police officer pleads guilty to disorderly conduct, court records say

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A former Terre Haute police officer accused of domestic battery in March of last year has entered a plea agreement.

Jeremy Bales has pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct, according to online court records.

The original charge of domestic battery has been dismissed.

Court records say Bales received a suspended jail sentence of 180 days and was placed on informal probation for one year and 180 days. He must also perform 40 hours of community service.

The sentencing states Bales has agreed to and has resigned his position as law enforcement officer.
