CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A former Clay County Sheriff’s Department Deputy was arrested Wednesday following accusations of using another individual’s identity on social media.
The investigation began in February 2022 when Indiana State Police received information that the identity of a Loganville, GA man was being used on social media by another individual.
Prosecutors said the investigation revealed the Andrew M. Longyear, 32, of Fishers, had allegedly engaged in posting numerous derogatory comments to a social media account called, “Brazil Indiana Chatter.”
Longyear was allegedly using the cover photo and identity of the Loganville, GA man while posting derogatory comments toward another individual.
Longyear was arrested without incident and brought to the Clay County Detention Center. He was released on his own recognizance and charged with the following:
- Identity Deception, Level 6 Felony
- Conversion, Class A Misdemeanor
