TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — For over half a century, one local club has been helping raise money to benefit local youth. This Saturday, September 17, that tradition will continue.

The Honey Creek Garden Club will host its mum sale. By simply purchasing some flowers, the money will help fund scholarships.

There will be a wide selection including mums, pansies, pumpkins, and gourds.

The Club’s goal is to raise $3000. Each year, the organization provides two scholarships for students pursuing education in horticulture, agriculture or a similar field.

“The Garden Club has been around for over 50 years and we have always offered this scholarship and it is important to us to continue to offer this scholarship,” said Nancy Bauer, the Club’s President. “our last several sales have been quite successful so we’ve been able to increase the amount of our scholarships. Come out and help the local youth of the Wabash Valley.”

The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 2001 S 13th Street in Terre Haute.
