WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A fishing tournament this weekend will support the family of a local teen killed in a crash last month.

The First Annual Tony Elkins Fishing Tournament will take place Sunday. Those wanting to participate can register at Burnett’s Bait Shop located at 942 N. Bennett Place in West Terre Haute.

Entry free for the tournament will be $10. Half of the fees will go to the first place in each division. The other half will go directly to Elkins’ family. Any donations provided during the tournament will also go directly to the family.

Elkins, who was 15, was killed when his dirt bike collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the truck, Brent Robertson, 49, of Clinton, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
