DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is requesting help from the public regarding arson.
According to a release from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is looking to the community for any information about a fire that took place in downtown Washington around 9:13 p.m. on Tuesday.
Local fire crews responded to a historic commercial building on Main Street which is currently being used for storage and found no one inside of the building at the time of the fire.
The Washington Fire Department was able to put out the fire quickly before calling in the state marshal to investigate the cause of the fire. The investigation determined the fire was intentionally set at several locations inside the building.
