Fire at Outback Steakhouse in Terre Haute sends 1 to hospital with smoke inhalation

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person was sent to the hospital due to smoke inhalation Wednesday afternoon following a fire at Outback Steakhouse in Terre Haute.

According to Terre Haute Fire Department Training Chief Kyle Pettijohn, the fire started in the basement of the restaurant and was quickly extinguished by staff members. Firefighters arrived at the scene around 1:24 p.m.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
