VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Filing of candidates for four seats on the Vigo County school board that are up for election in November began Wednesday.
While Wednesday is the start of the window, candidates have until August 26 at noon to file. Filings can be turned in at the Vigo County Absentee Voter’s Office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Vigo County School Board terms last for 4 years with staggered expirations. This year’s election will be for the seats representing Districts 1, 2, 4, and 5. District one, due to population density has 3 seats representing it, this year’s election will be for the seat officially labeled as 1-1.
The seats not up for election this year were elected to office in the November 2020 general election, which included seats 1-2, 1-3, and the 3rd District. Amy Lore, Jacqueline Lower, and Stacy Killion joined the board that year.
