PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A federal arrest was made in Edgar County, Illinois following an investigation into what authorities are calling a “major methamphetamine trafficking case.”
Christopher L. Asbury, 38, of Paris, Illinois, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Urbana Thursday, and was taken into custody by local law enforcement Friday.
The Edgar County Sheriff’s Department and Paris Police Department worked with Drug Enforcement Agents from Illinois, Indiana and Missouri for “well over a year” on the case, authorities said.
Asbury was taken to the Clark County Jail in Marshall, Illinois and then transported to Federal Court in Urbana to be turned over to US Marshals.
