VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After several days, a boil order has been lifted for some residents in the area.

Fayette Township Water has confirmed the boil order that was put into effect on March 3, has been lifted as of Thursday.

The boil order was applied to Funkhouser Pl. to New Goshen Rd. including Haymaker Ave. between Funkhouser Pl. and Strole Pl.

Due to heavy storms that washed over the state earlier in the month, portions of Funkhouser Pl. in western Vigo County suffered damage that lead to a main line break, causing the boil order to go into effect.

Vigo County Engineer and Highway crews found the area to have been built with poor materials that gave way when the area became saturated after the storms. Residents should continue to avoid the area as construction continues.
