TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A financially friendly night out is planned for the whole family to enjoy at the Ryes Youth Center.

On September 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. the organization is hosting a family night with the theme “money matters.”

Fifth Third Bank is sponsoring the event and will park its Financial Empowerment Mobile eBus outside for attendees to learn about financial services: free credit checks, second chance banking accounts, homeownership seminars and how to avoid foreclosure.

Games and activities will also be featured.

“Families are encouraged to join us for an evening meal and a presentation by Fifth Third Bank about financial literacy. Following Family Night, special guest Habitat for Humanity will also hold an informative session,” stated Jim Pinkstaff, Program Director at Ryves Youth Center.

Chef Naomi Smith with the Kids Cafe, will be providing a meal at 6 p.m.

In attendance will also be Habitat for Humanity with information on how residents can apply for Habitat’s next four homes. The organization is currently accepting applications through October 15. Western
Indiana Community Action Agency (WICAA) and Terre Haute Housing Authority will be on-hand to provide information and resources for families too.

Activities will be at the lower level of Ryves Youth Center located at 1356 Locust St.
