VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Multiple agencies have responded to a brush fire in southern Vigo County Tuesday.

Kevin Murphy with the Honey Creek Fire Department said firefighters responded to a fire near S. Barley Street and E. Sutliff Drive shortly after 4 p.m.

Honey Creek Fire, Pierson Fire, Linton Township Fire, as well as Thunderbird Fire Departments were spotted on scene and battled the fire for over two hours. Murphy said several nearby residents helped with the response as well.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, but remains under investigation. Murphy said they would have a better idea how large the fire was on Wednesday. He also offered a reminder for residents to take the necessary precautions when they burn.
