TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County School Corporation moved closer to proposed renovations and construction on its three high schools Monday.
At its meeting earlier Monday night, the school board announced that an election board will develop a question for the referendum. The $260 million referendum will renovate co-curricular spaces and build new academic spaces at North, South, and West Vigo High Schools. That option was officially recommended by the school board earlier in January.
Now the election board will formalize the question that will be on the ballot in may. Once the ballot question is determined, a campaign will be launched to educate the public about the referendum.
“Our communities still needs to be informed,” Lori Danielson said. “Informed so that they can be engaged and be apart of that answer and the vote on May 3. So, we have more work to do, but great work has been done up to this point.”
The referendum is set to be on the ballot May 3.
