Eagle Scout crafts play area for Vincennes shelter dogs

Local News

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A shelter in Vincennes received a donation this month from a local scout.

Eagle Scout Collin Corless donated an obstacle course to the shelter as one of his scout projects. Director of the shelter Leah Vantlin said the donation idea started about a year ago and the project just finished up this month.

She said Corless, his father and a group of volunteers gave up their Saturday so they could create a place where dogs could play at the shelter.

Vantlin noted that all unused funds raised by Corless were donated back to the shelter. A fundraiser is being held to repair and update parts of its building.

They’re selling raffle tickets for a shotgun for $20 per ticket or $80 for five tickets. The raffle is to be drawn July 19.
