VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: As of 3:45 p.m. Duke Energy crews have finished repairs and restored power to the area. Vigo County Central Dispatch also confirmed that E. Hasselburger Avenue as well as the portion of 13th Street have been reopened to traffic.

Original: Duke Energy crews have been called to East Hasselburger Avenue in northern Vigo County to replace a power pole following a single-vehicle crash.

According to Vigo County Deputy Brent Hall, a driver headed eastbound on Hasselburger had a medical issue which caused them to lose control of their vehicle, travel off the roadway and strike a power pole before the vehicle overturned.

Hall said the driver suffered minor injuries as a result.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

According to Duke Energy’s Indiana Outage Map, the crash caused an initial 117 customers in the area to be without power.

Hall said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash. Hall said a portion of 13th Street and E. Hasselburger Ave. would remain closed for a time as crews with Duke Energy worked to repair the damage.
