TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Folks celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at the Red Barn, for the P.S. We Love You Foundation Party.

The event took place to honor Patrick Stephen Barrett, and raise money for Riley Hospital.
Barrett was diagnosed with bone cancer at 13-years-old. After, 10 months of undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, he graduated near the top of his class. He then enrolled, at Indiana University in Bloomington.

Later, Barrett’s cancer had returned and he passed away in 2016.

Co-Founder of the foundation Molly Barrett said this is a great way to remember his legacy.

“He had dreams of being an oncologist and his goal was to go to medical school after he went through his first battle of cancer. I think he saw the importance and what he could do to help other children that were facing that,” Barrett said. “So being able to continue that through the donations to Riley Hospital is what kind of continues to allow him to live on for everyone.”

The P.S. We Love You Foundation raises money for precision genomics testing at Riley Hospital for Children. If you missed the celebration, you can still donate at psweloveyoufund.org.
