TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A community friendly event returned to the Hulman Center Friday evening, in an effort to help kids in the Wabash Valley.
Shattering previous records, the 15th annual Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars raised over $282,000. All proceeds will benefit programs hosted by Chances and Services for Youth.
“This is incredible to see. Area kids are really going to benefit from this,” CASY Chief Operating Officer, Brandon Halleck said.
All participants were in charge of raising donations and performing a dance.
The winner was chosen based on whoever raised the most money.
“We wouldn’t be able to do this without the stars, who have stepped up literally on the dance floor and on the fundraising to help us raise these dollars. All this money goes to help our programming in the Wabash Valley at the Booker T. Washington Community Center and throughout several other counties as well,” Halleck added.
WAWV/WTWO Sales Manager, Tim Sanders, won the Judge’s Choice Award and raised $20,000.
