WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Two people were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after their vehicle was struck by a semi-truck in western Vigo County.
The crash reportedly happened around 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of US-40 and Darwin Road.
According to Sgt. Matt Ames with Indiana State Police, a semi-truck was traveling eastbound on US-40 when it struck a passenger vehicle that was attempting to turn south onto Darwin Road. The driver of the passenger car allegedly did not yield to the semi-truck.
The passenger car reportedly left the roadway due to the collision and traveled into a ditch.
The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
The driver of the car and the backseat passenger were both transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
