PIMENTO, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Firefighters were in southern Vigo County battling a fire at the old Pimento school just off US Hwy. 41 early Monday morning.
According to Honey Creek Fire Battalion Chief Jon Shackelford, Multiple fire departments were called to the building at around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
Shackelford explained the building has been abandoned for years and reported no injuries resulting from the fire.
According to Shackelford, when firefighters arrived, there were flames coming through the roof of the building. Due to the age of the building firefighters set up for exterior operations while battling the blaze.
