HILLSDALE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A one-vehicle accident in Vermillion County over the weekend led to a OVWI arrest.
Jason T. Strawser, 43, of Terre Haute was arrested after he drove his vehicle off of CR 1250 southwest of Clinton and struck a tree.
Strawser declined medical treatment at the scene and failed a field sobriety test. A state-certified chemical test revealed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.20%.
Authorities found a loaded firearm on Strawser, who did not have a license to carry. They also learned Strawser had a prior OVWI conviction in Pennsylvania within the past five years.
Straswer was charged with OVWI – prior conviction and possession of a firearm without a license. He was transported to the Vermillion County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000 with a 15.3 hour hold required.
