RILEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Two weeks ago, Corbin and Russell Butts were critically injured in car crash.
In response, local organizations are chipping in to help the Butt’s family pay for the two teen’s medical expenses.
The American Legion Post 328 hosted its second fundraiser in support of the duo. Last week, it hosted a miniature horse race fundraiser that raised over $3,000.
This week, it is hosted a pool tournament at its location in Riley on Saturday. American Legion Post 328 Treasurer Deb Stephens is the organizer of the fundraisers and she said the outpour of support has been amazing over the last two weeks.
Stephens said that the Butts family is deeply rooted in the American Legion. She added that they’re determined to continue to support the family.
“The American Legion is one big family,” Stephens said. “We reach out and start doing what we can to help.”
