TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local business owner gave back to its community while celebrating 20 years.
Tyler’s Hair Shop, on 25th Street in Terre Haute, opened in 1999 and has continued to grow over the decades.
“It just keeps growing. We have a very big walk-in business because we have reasonable prices,” Owner, Tammy Peters said.
To show appreciation, on Thursday, the business offered prices that they would have offered twenty years ago. Men’s and children haircuts were priced at $5 and women’s were priced at $8. Prices have doubled throughout two decades.
Peters said she still has many of the same customers as she did when she first opened two decades ago.
“My heart goes out to all of them and I’m very thankful through all the years for all the girls that don’t work here anymore, that did help grow this business, without them, I wouldn’t be here and without the costumers as well we wouldn’t be here, and I’m very grateful for all of it,” Peters said.
Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the success on Thursday morning. The ribbon cutting was the first one for the business, because owners didn’t have one when the business first opened.
