TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – State and local community members are celebrating the longest tenant at the Terre Haute Regional Airport.

Turbins Inc. is an FAA-approved independent PT6A engine maintenance and overhaul facility. The company celebrated its 40th anniversary on Friday.

Local leaders like Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett and several state representatives and senators were there for the celebration.

Most of the employees are U.S. veterans who come to the company with a refined skillset.

“We overhaul PT6 engines. In other words, we bring them in if they’re in two pieces or one piece, and they’re worn out or tired, we refurbish them and make them like new again. That’s our business,” said James Mills, Owner of Turbines Inc.

The company is a family-owned and operated business.
