VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The community paid tribute Monday evening to Vigo County’s Historian Tim Crumrin, who passed away last week.

In 2021, the Indiana Historical Society appointed Crumrin as Historian, which he served for nearly 10 years. Before that, Crumrin served for 25 years as Historian and a Director at Conner Prairie Museum in Fishers, Indiana. He was also a Professor of History at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Crumrin has received a handful of awards for his work, and he published several articles, and books related to local history.

“He was a very humble man. As well as he felt passionate about Vigo County history and I think he wanted to share that with as many people as he could. And he loved story telling. And I think that people gathering here today in his honor would mean a lot to him,” Curator of Vigo County History Center Suzy Quick said.

In his honor, you can make contributions to the Vigo County Historical Society or the Indiana Historical Society.
