ROBINSON, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thanks to a tip from an “observant citizen,” a man who fled from the Robinson Police after they responded to a domestic disturbance has been taken into custody.
According to a post from the Robinson Police Department, on March 7 at around 6:28 p.m., officers received a report of a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of W. Mefford Ave. When law enforcement arrived, the victim of the incident was located but officers were informed that the offender had fled on foot heading northbound.
The initial reports suggested that the offender was in possession of a hammer, however, the hammer in question has since been located and police initially posted that “at this time we have no reason to believe he poses a threat to others in the community.”
Law enforcement activated a community alert to make residents in the area aware that police were searching for the individual and provided details of the suspect’s appearance.
The suspect, Larry J. Heath, 42, was later identified and spotted by a resident in the area who then alerted law enforcement. The Robinson Police Department made another post updating the community on the situation and thanking them for their help.
Thanks to an observant citizen’s tip, Larry Heath has been taken into custody. We appreciate the community’s concern and assistance in locating him.
