TERRE HAUTE Ind., (WTWO/WAWV) — A local effort is making intersections in Terre Haute a little more colorful.
Community member Tiffany Baker organized a project to paint traffic boxes at city intersections. She got the idea after her family saw something similar in Bloomington.
They talked to mayor Duke Bennett about the idea and since then have had artists paint about 20 boxes in the city.
People can help sponsor area artists to paint the boxes and keep this project growing.
“Our family is kind of on this mission to show off the power of paint and show that you don’t have to use a lot of money to really change the attitude and optimism of our town, so that’s our goal with this project,” Baker explained.
Baker would eventually like to have all the traffic boxes within city limits painted.
