TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A project that will house homeless veterans in Terre Haute got another boost from the community Wednesday.

Guys Who Give presented a $6,000 check to the Veteran’s Village project.

The project involves building six tiny homes resembling studio apartments at Maple Avenue and North 23rd Street. Those tiny homes will then serve as transitional homes for homeless veterans.

The goal is to build them by Veterans Day and fundraising continues to support the effort.

“Right now I think we stand at just over $150,000 which reaches our goal for building the project,” Veteran’s Village Project Chairman Kyle McClain said. “We still have to raise money going forward to keep the upkeep on all of these, but yeah, this is all 100% funded by our community here in the Wabash Valley so it’s pretty exciting for us; we’re happy.”

One of several ways to support the project is by purchasing a brick that will be placed at the site.
