WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – 2 West Vigo High School seniors took advantage of an opportunity to showcase restaurants in their community.

Taste of West Terre Haute was created by the Vigo County’s Purdue Extension pilot program called “My Hometown is Cool.”

The goal was to improve the reputation of West Terre Haute and introduce the community to some tasty treats.

Macksville Coffee Company, Grandma Vera’s, and the Sycamore Winery, we’re among the many restaurants that provided special offers to the community this weekend.

“We wanted to spotlight West Terre Haute and have the community to interact with the local jems,” Easton said.

Easton said many of the businesses involved with the Taste of West Terre Haute project saw a significant turn out.

“I spoke with Sycamore Winery and was told they have been slammed this weekend, and I know Macksville Coffee Company has been as well,” Easton said.

The funds for the project are through the Oakley Foundation Grant.
