Florida woman arrested in Farmersburg for theft after fleeing on ‘very-noticeable bicycle’

Local News

FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Farmersburg Marshal’s Office reported Monday one person was arrested after allegedly stealing from a business and fleeing on what was described as a “very noticeable bicycle.”

Late last week, a local business contacted Farmersburg Police in reference to a theft. Officers viewed video camera footage and were able to determine who the suspect was during the theft due to the very noticeable bicycle being driven away from the scene.

Officers proceeded to the residence where the bicycle was located and made contact with the woman, who was positively identified as the suspect in the theft.

The suspect was briefly staying in Farmersburg awaiting travel to Florida. Monday morning, Amanda McDonald, 40, Florida, was taken into custody, police said.

It was discovered McDonald had numerous outstanding arrest warrants in Florida and a full-extradition arrest warrant for escape and failure to appear in court in Denver, Colo.

After McDonald appears for her Sullivan County theft charge, she will be extradited to Colorado to stand trial for her outstanding warrant.
