TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local organization that helps victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault has launched a new fundraising campaign.
The Council on Domestic Abuse, or CODA, hosted an open house Friday at its Terre Haute shelter. The event launched CODA’s Loving Legacy fundraising campaign.
An anonymous donor will match contributions up to $50,000, so that could bring total donations to $100,000.
CODA’s Executive Director Emily Murray says the money will go a long way in helping people.
“Domestic violence doesn’t discriminate against anyone so there are constantly people calling us, asking for help, for resources. Sometimes they need to come into the shelter. It’s vitally important that we have this resource here in Vigo County, but we don’t just serve Vigo County,” said Murray.
You can donate on CODA’s website here.
The number to call CODA is 800-566-CODA.
