BOWLING GREEN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – You can step back in time his weekend with a medieval faire.
It’s an annual event held at Clayshire Castle in Bowling Green. This is the 9th year for the faire, which has grown every year. You’ll see all kinds of medieval activities from jousting and armored combat to performances by a sword swallower, a fire-breather, a puppeteer, and a falconer.
There will also be lots of vendors, food, music, and singing and there will be an opportunity to tour the castle.
“It’s just something neat. There’s not a whole lot out here that’s like this and so it’s just a way to share this enthusiasm and this joy, this excitement for this history with the community around us. Plus it’s a great way, we’re getting a lot of local vendors involved, so it’s a nice way to support a lot of local businesses,” said Katie Voges, the Medieval Faire Coordinator.
The event will take place this Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and attendees can expect free parking with a shuttle service that will take you to the castle.
Tickets at the gate are $15 for adults and $10 dollars for kids. If you buy tickets online, there’s a three-dollar discount. Online sales end Friday evening.
