Local News

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Clay Community Schools announced today on its website that due to the fact that Clay County remains in the red category on the Indiana State Department of Health’s COVID-19 Dashboard’s Color Code System, it will extend school closures through Dec. 4.

This decision was made through joint discussions between school officials and Clay County Health officials. Clay County is witnessing an increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases throughout the county and also seeing an increase in hospitalizations related to the virus.

Schools are now scheduled to reopen on Monday, Dec. 7. In the meantime, schools will continue utilizing an eLearning platform until the buildings reopen.
