SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan, Jasper and Knightstown have been selected to participate in the Indiana Bond Bank’s Flipping Finance Challenge: The Board Game, a virtual event bringing together coders, designers, marketers, entrepreneurs, students and civically engaged individuals to help develop solutions to local challenges, the city of Sullivan reported Tuesday. The challenge begins on Friday and goes through Saturday.
The city of Sullivan will be focusing on neighborhood revitalization, an initiative that the city has been actively pursuing. Their goal is to make the city a place to live, work and play for all, with an understanding that revitalizing neighborhoods will enhance the city’s quality of place.
“The city of Sullivan is grateful and excited that we were selected to partake in this innovative event. We are always actively looking for creative solutions and opportunities, and this will certainly provide additional means to continue accomplishing projects in Sullivan,” states Mayor Clint Lamb.
A total of 14 challenges will take place through a virtual platform. Participants will select a challenge and work with a team or individually to design a solution. Solutions may take any shape and do not have to be financial in nature.
After an 18-hour design time, participants will present their solutions to the units of government. Up to $5,000 in prizes as well as other prizes and giveaways are up for grabs. Participating innovators will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a network of over 15 professional organizations attending in support of the event.
