TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute City Council voted to approve three rezoning special ordinances and tabled another at its meeting Thursday evening.
Special Ordinance No. 4, which would rezone the property at 1108 S. 13th St. so that its owner could build a larger building in which equipment and vehicles could be stores, was passed unanimously.
Special Ordinance No. 5, which would rezone the residence at 2517 N. 13th St. so that it could be transformed into a rehabilitation center run by C.H.A.N.G.E., Inc., was tabled for vote at a later date when more logistical information about the center would be available.
Special Ordinance No. 6, which would rezone lots at 1122 and 1160 Locust St. so that it could transform a former plasma center into a set of self-storage warehouse units, was passed unanimously.
Special Ordinance No. 7, which would rezone the property at 2315 E. Margaret Ave. so that it too could contain storage units, was passed unanimously.
Near the end of the meeting, Terre Haute Fire Chief Jeff Fisher — who is retiring on April 12 — thanked the Council for working with him and presented Council members with gift souvenir pens.
