TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Vigo County Capital Improvement Board met Wednesday and gave an update on the Terre Haute Convention Center and the Larry Bird Museum.

Tennille Wanner, General Manager of the Convention Center, said during the month of April, the center hosted 17 events, with a little over 1,500 people in attendance in total.

Wanner said there were already 29 proposals out for potential events in 2024.

As for the Larry Bird Museum, the tentative opening date is still December of this year, however, there could be delays due to the process of gaining media rights for the audio-visual exhibits that will be at the museum.

A survey went out Wednesday about the audio-visual exhibit and Board President Jon Marvel said they will have a detailed report about their findings at the next meeting.
