SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Santa and his helpers handed out presents to children and families as part as part of the Christmas for Kids of Sullivan.

For the last 20 years, “Christmas for Kids” has been making holidays special for the community.

They will be provided gifts for families in need or who have experienced tragedy. Children of all ages received a different assortment of items.

The organization made stops in Sullivan, Dugger, Shelburn and even made a stop at the Breckenridge nursing home.

Organizer Roberta Russell says she was a single parent who wanted to make sure other single parents didn’t have to struggle for Christmas.

“I was always provided a nice Christmas my entire life so I feel like every child deserves one but sometimes we get so caught in the mix of tragedy that we forget people around us need to be loved on,” Russell said.

the organization helped make Christmas special for over 100 kids today.
