TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Wednesday, Chick-Fil-A partnered with Indiana State University’s sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer.
By mentioning ZTA’s cause, Chick-Fil-A will donate a portion of the sale to the sorority’s funds. The sorority’s week-long event, Think Pink Week, takes place during the month of October and arranges various fundraising events to advocate for breast cancer education and awareness. Familiar with the event, ISU student Kimberly Korff commented, “October is breast cancer awareness month and we’ve worked with Chick-Fil-A in the past. It’s a student favorite on campus. Everyone loves going and supporting.”
Throughout the week, the sorority has been arranging various fundraising events to help spread awareness and educate people about the cause. A student involved in the events, Quincee Musselman, added, “This week, we’re mainly focusing on raising awareness but also on raising funds to go toward that awareness and education.” This Thursday night at 6:00pm, Indiana State will be hosting two doctors to provide education to the public about self-assessment and early detection of breast cancer. The event will take place in “Dede II” on Indiana State’s campus.
