TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting multiple events over the coming weeks to celebrate Halloween and the fall season.
Trunk or Treat – Oct. 14
The first of these events is the third annual “Trunk or Treat” day at Deming Park. Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costume from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, or while supplies last, to receive candy and go around to various cars trick or treating.

Un-Haunted Halloween Happenings – Oct. 15 and 16
The Un-Haunted Halloween Happenings event will happen at Deming Park on Oct. 15 and 16. “Un-Haunted” nights, according to a news release, are great activities for younger kids.
“The Un-haunted train and hayrides will help them enjoy the Halloween Spirit without all the tears and fears” the flyer reads.
Train and hayrides at the event will be $3 each. Glow products and fall treats will be available for purchase. Kid-friendly Halloween stories will also be read from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the lawn.
Children are encouraged to come to the event dressed in their favorite Halloween costume. Dogs are also encouraged to be brought out on Oct. 15 for the Dog Costume Contest at 6:30 p.m. To pre-register a dog for $10, or the day of the event for $15, call the Torner Center at (812) 232-0147.
Haunted Halloween Happenings – Oct. 22 and 23
The final option for Park and Rec Halloween events is for the older crowd, a news release said. Haunted nights will occur from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 23 in Deming Park and is for people who “like the thrill of being scared.”
All ages are welcome to the event, but at the discretion of parents. Haunted train and hayrides will be available at $3 a person. Glow products and fall treats will be available for purchase.
