TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — You can help a local non-profit provide basic need items to local individuals and families in need.

Terre Haute Catholic Charities is currently holding its “Christmas in July” sock and underwear drive. They are collecting the items to stock the charity’s Christmas Store.

Last year the Christmas Store provided items to nearly 1,500 people from more than 400 families. Donations of all adult and child sizes of new socks and underwear are welcome, the charity also accepts donations of money.

“Remembering everything that’s here is brand new so much of it is donated, and we truly couldn’t do that without the support of our community,” Assistant Agency Director of Terre Haute Catholic Charities Jennifer Buell said. “But there’s also just those items that we seem to be short on every year. So, having a little extra money that’s been donated helps us go out and purchase those items as they’re needed.”

The donation drive runs through August 4.
