TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Following the end of Halloween festivities, Terre Haute Catholic Charities announced Monday that it will be conducting its annual “Share Your Thanksgiving Food and Funds” drive to continue providing for those with insecurity in the area.
The fund drive will be taking place on Nov. 11, according to a news release from Catholic Charities. The foodbank’s staff and volunteers will be accepting any donations of nonperishable food and money from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Meadows Shopping Center parking lot in Terre Haute.
According to the release, items most needed are hearty soups, peanut butter, canned fruit in 100% juice, canned vegetables, canned tuna or chicken and whole grain cereals. Volunteers are asking for no glass containers.
In addition, long-time partner Papa John’s Pizza will once again be donating a portion of sales from
four store locations made on Tuesday, Nov. 9 to Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank. The participating locations are:
• 1234 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47807
• 4842 South US Hwy 41, Terre Haute, IN 47802
• 99 Forest Park Plaza, Brazil, IN 47834
• 1783 E State Road 163, Ste J, Clinton, IN 47842
The community may also participate by dropping off non-perishable food at any of the following locations now through Nov. 11:
- Apple House
- Kroger North
- Kroger South
- All Old National Bank Terre Haute locations
- Holler Family Dentistry
- Smudde Family Dentistry
- Powell Orthodontics
- ISU Career Center
- CSL Plasma Center, and
- First Farmers Bank & Trust Terre Haute South Branch.
Several Vigo County schools, and Saint Patrick’s School are also participating in this year’s effort. All proceeds from the event will benefit Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank and its more than 85 member agencies whose mission is to feed hungry adults and children in Clay, Greene, Knox, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties.
