A gaming bill that could help bring a casino to Terre Haute will move on to a third House reading Monday.
During Thursday’s second reading of SB 552, only about a third of 30 possible amendments were discussed. One amendment not heard was Amendment #10, which would delete Vigo County from the bill’s language.
Amendment #1 which termiates a gaming license relinquished by a casino who moves inland from Gary was adopted. Another amendment adopted was #23 which applies open door laws to meetings with gambling license holders or prospective license holders.
An amendment that would have brought hold-harmless provisions from Gary, Hammond and East Chicago areas back into the bill’s language was defeated.
