GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Carlisle man has died after being hit by a pickup truck shortly after being ejected from his motorcycle on State Road 67.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred Saturday at 11:50 a.m. on SR 67 north of Switz City.

Robert McKee, 43, of Carlisle, died in the incident, while a 19-year-old from Vincennes was injured.

The two men were reportedly riding separate motorcycles northbound on SR 67. Deputies said for an unknown reason McKee lost control of his bike, causing the Vincennes man to also lose control of his bike. Both riders were ejected. McKee continued into the southbound lanes and was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a Martinsville man.

The 19-year-old came to a stop in the northbound lane and was taken to Greene County General Hospital by ambulance with unspecified injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured in the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
