TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As we come closer to the winter months, one local organization is looking to provide coats to families in need.

Saturday marked the 13th annual Coats for Kids drive at Cannonball Harley Davidson in Terre Haute. Those who donated received refreshments and discounts on T-shirts as the dealership continued the years-long tradition of helping families in the Valley.

Rob Slagle is the general manager for the organization, and he ensures that giving back to the community will always be very important.

“I have always done things wherever I was at in the world. I spent a lot of time in the air force, moved, traveled a little bit. Every time I have the opportunity to give back to the local community, it is important to me. I know that it is important to my team and ownership staff as well,” said Slagle.

He also wanted to add that they are also doing another event next weekend as well.

“Next weekend we are hosting our veteran’s appreciation event where we will be giving back a portion of our proceeds to local veterans homes,” added Slagle.

If you were not able to donate Saturday, you still have time. They are accepting donations through December 1st.
