TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — In light of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center has decided to temporarily close the museum for the month of December to ensure the safety of the visitors and staff.

Museum Executive Director Leah Simpson apologized for any inconvenience this may cause, adding that CANDLES “will continue to monitor state guidelines and recommendations from local health officials as we evaluate how best to reopen the museum.” For questions, contact CANDLES at (812) 234-7881 or
