TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Camp Navigate cut the ribbon Wednesday on a new space that will provide after-school care for kids.

It will be located at “The Lab” on Locust street in Terre Haute’s Ryves neighborhood. Centerpoint Energy Foundation donated 70 thousand dollars for the next three years to help make this a reality. The site will be open Monday through Friday evenings free of charge. Camp Navigate started as a summer camp teaching kids soft skills like leadership and respect. Executive director, Eleanor Ramseier, shared how it feels to see the camp’s programs expand.

“It’s been a big blessing, not just to me and my staff, but to the students and to their parents, and I feel like we’re obviously doing something right, and we keep growing. We keep expanding.”

Registration will open next month.
