Camp Curiosity kids compete in egg drop contest

Local News

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Students participating in Sarah Scott Middle School’s Camp Curiosity competed Friday to see who could drop and egg without breaking it.

The students created containers to house the eggs, and then dropped them from a fire truck ladder.

“It actually went really well; better than planned, actually,” 8th grader, Abby Flynn, said. “My egg survived, which is basically what I wanted, and I have all this to prove it.”

Forty Sarah Scott students are taking part in Camp Curiosity which is designed to help prevent learning loss over the summer.

This isn’t the only program keeping students engaged this summer. Vigo County has 251 middle school students and 388 high school students taking part programs while school is out. The school corporation also has an all-digital math and writing program with more than 200 students taking part.
