MARSHALL, Illinois. (WTWO/WAWV)- It was a busy Friday night in downtown Marshall Illinois with several activities to enjoy.

The Farmer’s Market, lemonade stand contest, and the Marshall Walking Tour all took place on Main Street.

The Marshall Walking Tour is a historical tour of Marshall starting at the courthouse which leads back to the Farmers Market.

Every Friday is a different route and a new story.

Organizers said this is a great time to enjoy downtown.

“We feel like the public can really come out and enjoy them. They’ll start at the farmers market and then go through the lemonade stand contest and go on the tours and then stay for the band. So there’s a lot happening,” Nora Swalls with the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce, said.

Organizers of the lemonade stand contest said they are excited to host the event again.

“Pretty excited that everyone is setting up today and  we’re gonna have a great time,” Wyatt Mcconchie said.

“The weather doesn’t stop anybody from doing it and the kids love doing it whether rain or shine. So we enjoy putting it on for the kids,” Jilliann Sanders added.

The Farmer’s Market and the Marshall Walking Tour will take place every Friday until July 29.
