VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A burn ban in Vigo County has been extended until Oct. 16, county commissioners announced Friday.
The ban probhibits campfire and recreational fire use unless fires are enclosed in a fire ring 23 inches in diameter and 10 inches tall.
The burning of debris is also prohibited. This includes items such as timber, vegetation and construction debris. Open burning with use of fuel is prohibited such as wood or other combustible matter.
The use of charcoal grills is allowed, however the coals must be completely extinguished after cooking.
